This credentialing opportunity allows learners to develop proficiency with non-technical aspects of industry entry: professional communication, time management, networking, etc.  By attending online workshops, creating professional portfolio materials, giving and receiving peer feedback, and participating in quantum industry events, learners will demonstrate a fitness for workforce entry beyond that of the typical academic student.

Requirements

For each topic, the requirements are:

  • Attend an introductory online workshop with our professional development trainers to become familiar with the topic and prepare a plan for mastery.
  • Spend time creating an artifact for their professional application portfolio relevant to the topic, and both give peer feedback to and receive peer feedback from other program learners on that topic.
  • Participate in a follow-up seminar, either online or in-person, dedicated to the topic.  Seminars are more adaptable to the needs of individual groups of learners (e.g., learners from a particular school) but their purpose is to provide a focused session for questions, more peer feedback, chats with experts (including industry professionals), etc.
  • Submit their compiled artifacts and professional materials to program leaders and our professional trainers for assessment
  • Participate in at least one of several program-wide event dedicated to these topics; for example, an industry mixer or a young quantum professionals' day.

Criteria

For each topic, learners must demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the topic's importance to industry.
  • Entry-level proficiency with the topic, demonstrated through both created artifacts (e.g., creation of a professional cover letter) and oral demonstrations (e.g., through giving a mock interview with a trainer).
